In doing due diligence on who got T.C.U.P. licensing in Texas in 2015-2016, and how those companies are funded and which state they originated from, there was one entity that stood out as the only company which got awarded a license that claimed to be from Texas.
The one entity that claims to be from Texas has attorneys for owners. That made us even more interested.
Always follow the money.
Once we found that Compassionate Cultivation hired Kevin Cooper to lobby for them in 2017, and Marijuana Policy Project also hired that DPS officer to help them at the capitol, and the majority of patients of Texas got left in the cages AND hiring a employee of the state to lobby for a company violates Texas Ethics Laws, welp, sometimes all we can say is “welcome to Texas Politics.”
Sec. 556.005. EMPLOYMENT OF LOBBYIST. (a) A state agency may not use appropriated money to employ, as a regular full-time or part-time or contract employee, a person who is required by Chapter 305 to register as a lobbyist. Except for an institution of higher education as defined by Section 61.003, Education Code, a state agency may not use any money under its control to employ or contract with an individual who is required by Chapter 305 to register as a lobbyist.
