Unlicensed Grow in Wynnewood Oklahoma Robbery Leads to 2 Workers Dead

WYNNEWOOD, Okla. (KFOR) — Two teens were arrested for allegedly shooting and killing two men in Wynnewood.

Bao Ming Ma, 56, and Alejandro Baltazar Hernandez, 42, were found shot to death at a marijuana grow operation near Wynnewood in April.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) identified one of the suspects as 18-year-old Whyitt Collins.

The other shooter is a 16-year-old male.

“These cases can be very sad, very tragic for everybody,” said Hunter Mckee with OSBI.

The Garvin County Sheriff said they followed the evidence and it lead them to the two teens, however, they are still unsure if or how they knew the victims.

“I will say that they were in close proximity to the grow, where they where they live and hang out. I believe that they were familiar with the grow,” said Jim Mullett, Garvin County Sheriff.

The victims were both workers at the grow.

The Sheriff said during the investigation, it was also discovered that the marijuana grow was not legal.

“The robberies, the burglaries and now we’ve got a double homicide in all it all stems around these grows and these illegal grows,” said Mullett.

Collins is facing a first degree murder charge.

The 16-year-old was arrested by Chickasaw Nation Lighthorse Police Department.

“The juvenile is going to be in a juvenile facility until it’s going to be determined whether or not that juvenile will be be prosecuted as an adult. Again, that’s going to be up to the courts to do that, but we’ll stand with them on their decision,” said Mullett.

Collins is expected to be in court on Thursday.
